Vinyl fringe is used around the bottom edges of the float. The sides and ends of a float are normally constructed to stop at 15" above the ground. The fringe covers the remaining void area of the sides and ends. The reason the sides and ends are usually not any lower is because if a float tire hits a pothole, the sides will not be damaged. Fringe creates the effect that the float is actually "floating along". Fringe is fragile material and NOT guaranteed against tear-out. Do not exceed speeds of 5-7 mph with fringe attached.
